Squadron 602, based at Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin, PA, is one of thousands of squadrons across the United States and also overseas. Civil Air Patrol has 3 missions: Aerospace Education, Cadet Programs, and Emergency Services.

  •  Aerospace education promotes an understanding and appreciation of the impact of aviation and aerospace in our everyday lives.

  •  The CAP Cadet Program was derived from ground school and military drill. Since its inception on October 1, 1942, the Cadet Program has evolved, but the fundamental principles such as integrity have remained intact.

  •  Our emergency services mission covers such areas as search and rescue, homeland security, disaster relief and life support activitiesand emergency communications.

There is also a program for parents to get involved in CAP too! Our Senior Member program provides many benefits that are similar to the cadet program. Some programs include, but are not limited to aerospace education, emergency services, and specialty tracks such as administrative or public affairs officer. Members in the senior member program have the opportunity to be promoted through the ranks also.
